What it does

Pi-usage-extension tracks every session's token consumption and API cost, and presents the data in an interactive dashboard. You can view totals for Today, This Week, Last Week, or All Time — broken down by provider and model so you can see exactly where spend is going.

The dashboard supports keyboard navigation with Tab and arrow keys, and switches to a compact layout automatically on narrow terminals. It's a lightweight alternative to checking your API provider's billing dashboard every time you want a usage snapshot.

Why it's included

API costs accumulate invisibly. The usage tracker makes them concrete and visible, which makes it easier to understand your patterns, notice outliers, and make informed decisions about when to use heavyweight models versus lighter ones.
